Welcome to my Web site!
I am Richard G. Jackson. I was born in Sullivan
County, Indiana in 1938. My family moved to New Castle a short time
later.
I became interested in woodcarving as a hobby in 1989
and attended a woodcarving class that was given by the Raintree
Woodcarver's Club and held at the public library.
I retired from Chrysler Corporation ( New Castle
Machining and Forge Division) in 1995 and begin to have more time to
spend on my woodcarving hobby.
I entered in to woodcarving competition at various
carving shows in the area and begin to earn awards for my carvings.
Over the years I have exhibited in the Raintree Woodcarver's Club show,
the Eastern Woodland Carving Club show, Dayton Carvers Guild show,
International Woodcarvers Congress show (Bettendorf, Iowa) and many
others in the area. |
